Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m sorry for the lack of posts the last month. Things at school have been very busy. We’ve had our field trip to the farm, participated in Read for the Record, done our Fall Exhibition project (which is still displayed in the hall, feel free to come by and see it!), had a jump rope clinic with Sihirah’s dad, and learned a ton! Today we are going to the Downtown Elementary Turkey Trot at the Redbirds stadium. I’ll try to get some pictures posted from this event.
All this to say, I do hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!
Open House Tonight!
Join us tonight (Tuesday, October 6) for our annual Open House and Pie Meeting. The meeting starts at 5:00 and the Open House will go until 7:00. This night will be a great time for you to see what your child has been doing in Kindergarten so far this year. Make plans to join us. I hope to see you there!
First Week
We had a great first week. We learned a lot about our school and the rules that we have here. We talked about doing things the “right way” and learning how to use our body control. Ask your kids to tell you about the rules we have at school (you can use the Classroom Procedures tab on the left side of the screen as a guide). Here are some pictures of our week. The first one is of our name display in the hallway. We talked about using a capital letter at the beginning of our names and writing all of the rest of the letters in lowercase form. We got to decorate our names to show how we are all unique! The 2nd picture is a group enjoying our snack outside on Friday. We enjoyed getting out and getting some fresh air to celebrate the end of our first week!

Testing Week
We’ve had a great week of testing this week! I’ve enjoyed meeting all of our new students and look forward to a great year with them. Be sure to read over the “Letter From Ms. Duggan” that is found on the left side of this page. You will receive this letter on Monday in your child’s folder. Also, you will also be receiving a parent survey. Please fill this out as soon as possible! Thank you, and I look forward to working with each of you this year!
Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year!

Come on in to Ms. Duggan's Class!
I can’t believe it is already time for the school year to begin! I am very excited about this year, and I can’t wait to meet all of my students during testing this week. Remember, school officially starts on August 17 for Kindergarten. This week (August 10-15) will be our testing week.
